1980 run Northwest Short Line model: superstructure built in Japan, mechanism built in the United States. Box shows minimal shelf wear. Foam has been replaced with bubblewrap. Outside sleeve shows little wear, as well. No spare parts. Built between 1882 and 1894 by the Dunkirk Engineering Company (and its predecessor, Dunkirk Iron Works) in Dunkirk, NY, the unique mechanical feature of the Dunkirk design was the two cylinder "V" engine arrangement mounted inside or directly below the cab, completely hidden from outside view. Fewer than 50 Dunkirks were built, although with some custom builds, the exact number of Dunkirks is unknown. Recently serviced - Old gearbox grease cleaned out and replaced. A smooth and reasonably quiet runner, it shows minimal signs of use.
