1977 'Hi-Grade' Run Pacific Fast Mail imported model built by Atlas Industries in Japan. Box shows minimal shelf wear. Improved over previous runs. Spare parts included. This locomotive was owned by virtually every railroad. These engines were used as delivered and heavily modified and were still in use by the 50's when they were replaced with diesels. This model represents a Baldwin built Light 2-8-2. Recently serviced - Old grease cleaned out of gearbox and replaced. New drive tube installed. While a fairly simple locomotive, its a later run model from Japan that demonstrated the ultimate of the Japanese craft. Note: Stack, original trailing truck, and can motor have been removed and replaced with another stack, an earlier run trailing truck, and an open frame motor. Being sold AS-IS for that reason.
