1975 run ALCO Models imported model built by Kumata in Japan. Box shows moderate shelf wear with tears in the corners and along the edges - see photos. Foam has been replaced with bubblewrap. No spare parts included. Recently serviced by one of our technicians - old gearbox grease cleaned out and replaced. A new drive tube has been installed. Switcher pilot and all weather cab. These A-2a's were the final steam locomotives manufactured for American railroads. The tenders were built by Lima, since Alco's tender shop had already been converted to diesel production. This is a smooth and reasonably quiet runner that's a nice example of a vintage model.
