The \"City of Kansas City\" was a famous streamlined passenger train operated by the Wabash Railroad starting on November 26, 1947. It ran a daily 278-mile route entirely within Missouri, connecting St. Louis and Kansas City. The Norfolk and Western Railway leased the Wabash in 1964 and finally discontinued the City of Kansas City in February 1968.
