1975 run PFM imported model built by Tenshodo in Japan. Box shows moderate shelf wear. Original center foam section replaced with bubblewrap. The Great Northern had eight locomotives in their Y-1 class, Nos. 5010 - 5017 and were built in the ALCO Schenectady plant utilizing GE electrical components. In 1956, after the GN decommissioned their electrical system, the Y-1's were sold to the Pennsylvania Railroad. The original open frame motor has been replaced with a can motor by previous owner, who also stripped off the factory paint, likely due to foam damage. A smooth and reasonably quiet runner, it's a solid model. Great candidate to be painted into the Pennsylvania's scheme!
